Yarn

4-ply sport weight semi-cotton or cotton yarn. I used YarnArt Jeans (55% cotton + 45% acrylic), 174 yards (160m), 1.76 ounces (50g) in the following shades: 

• 2 ⅘ oz (80g) of light blue (#75)
• 1 ⅖ oz (40g) of beige (#05)
• 5/7 oz (20g) of light brown (#87)
• ⅓ oz (10g) of dark brown (#71)
• ⅓ oz (10g) of cream (#03)
• ½ oz (15g) of orange (#23)

Yarn consumption can increase up to 1.5 times when crocheting with yarn over (YO) way. And the toy will have a bigger size.

Tools and other materials

• US size B/1 (2mm) and D/3 (3mm) crochet hooks
• Blunt-ended yarn needle
• Thin needle for embroidering the eyes
• Stitch markers
• Black and pink (optional) thread/yarn for embroidery
• Optional: a piece of rattle cellophane (or a piece of oven bag) for rustling effect, spandex thread to make the movement straps more durable, a box rattle or squeaker to put inside the Pearl.
